#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 21st May 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster and hosted by Emily at Nerd in the Brain.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I in Llandudno. We’re here for the Porsches on the Prom event, which is a new one for us.

Have you had a good week? I’ve been busy freelancing again and it finally stopped raining long enough for me to cut the grass… there’s still lots of work to be done in the garden, but it’s been raining heavily every day which is very frustrating, especially as I want to get it sorted out properly.

On Friday I had my first ever Drive-in Cinema experience, which I really enjoyed despite the occasional radio interference. We went to see Grease which is one of my all time favourite films and the perfect choice for a Drive-in. We arrived just as the car park was opening so we managed to get on the front row. My husband was rather surprised and amused by the fact I knew every single word (and I don’t just mean the songs) but like I said, it IS one of my favourites!

Yesterday we went to Colwyn Bay which was hosting a 1940s Festival and later on we had a wonderful evening at Romeo… the food was just perfect! Afterwards we wandered along the promenade, listened to the sea and watched the stars. I absolutely love walking of a night, everything is just so tranquil.

Right, we’d best get back to work… Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week! Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

Adding to our family tree – Thanks to my aunty and chatting with my in-laws over the weekend, I have lots of names which I can add to our family tree. It’s an ongoing project which has taken many months, but Findmypast has proven to be an invaluable tool and I love watching it grow.

Number Two
Completed at last! #Panini #StickerAlbum #FantasticBeasts
Finally completing my Fantastic Beasts sticker album – I’ve been collecting the Panini stickers since December, which has been quite a task as most of our local shops stopped selling them a while ago! Thankfully I was able to order the last few I needed online.

Number Three

She’s A Lady – Miss Congeniality was on TV the other night, and this song which is in the film has been stuck in my head ever since… I can’t help but smile when I hear it!

Now it’s your turn to share your happiness! Simply click on the button below and add your link with your three things that have made you smile this week… I can’t wait to hear all about them!

#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 14th May 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster and hosted by Emily at Nerd in the Brain.

If we were having coffee today, you would be arriving whilst I’m unpacking… I’ve spent several hours in a baking hot car so I’m going to pour myself an ice cold drink instead! We’ve just got back from visiting our family this weekend and have had a lovely time with our parents, as well as time with our niece and nephew.

So how have you been? I’ve mostly been busy doing freelance work this week. My husband and I and had a lovely evening with friends (and their three gorgeous English Setters) on Wednesday and yesterday I had a mini shopping spree with my sister. I also received some potentially exciting news earlier this week, which I will share at a later date if it all goes well… I don’t want to jinx it!

I’ve had a really long day and I’m feeling rather drained so I’m going to head off to bed soon. Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

Reflections on the 2017 A to Z Challenge

I’m so pleased that I have successfully completed my second A to Z Challenge! Unlike last year, I decided several months in advance what my topic would be and wrote the basics for each entry ahead of time. Despite this I still found myself just about managing to keep on track during the second week due to personal events, thankfully during the third week I caught up and was able to finish a week ahead of time.

Sourcing content for my entries was much easier this year, as the videos for my posts were readily available on YouTube and most allow you to share their content. Last year I had difficulty finding images that matched exactly what I was trying to describe, which was very time consuming.

I’m looking forward to taking part in the challenge again next year (I’ve already thought of my theme) but I think I shall have to be even more prepared than this year if I’m to keep up with the deadlines, perhaps by writing entries much further in advance and scheduling them… still it wouldn’t be a challenge if it was easy!

As I mentioned during my Coffee Share, I found it difficult to keep up with which blogs I had visited and commented on without the Linky List. I really hope they bring it back next year. I’m still working my way through lots of Facebook links, so if I’ve missed you I apologise! Please feel free to leave a link in the comments and I shall visit your blog ASAP.

On a final note, here are some other artists who just missed out on being my number one choice. Did I mention one of your favourites throughout the challenge?

Congratulations to everyone who took part and those of you who finished, I’m looking forward to visiting you all again next year!

#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 7th May 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster and hosted by Emily at Nerd in the Brain.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me at home for a change. I’m going out to the shops in a bit, but I rather fancy a hot chocolate to warm me up before I go out. The weather was lovely during the start of the week but it’s turned much colder now, it feels more like autumn at the moment… you wouldn’t think we were heading into summer!

So how have you been? I hope you’ve had a lovely week since our last catch up. My big news of the week is that starting from Thursday, There She Goes will be the new host of Three Things Thursday! I’m really looking forward to it and reading about all the things that make people happy. If you want to know more about Three Things Thursday and how to participate you can you can read all about it on the FAQ page. There She Goes was also chosen for the Mystery Blogger Award the other day, which was a lovely surprise.

Last Sunday my husband treated me to a day out in London and we managed to cram in as many tourist spots as possible, it was exhausting but SO much fun! The highlight for me had to be the wonderful House of MinaLima which has four floors crammed with props from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. I highly recommend it if you’re a fan. Best of all it’s totally free and you can take as many pictures as you like!

Yesterday we went to Nottingham, which is where my dad’s side of the family is from. My husband had never been before, so I took him to one of my favourite pubs – Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem. It’s the oldest one in England and carved into the surrounding caves, it’s such a fascinating place! Unfortunately the journey home wasn’t so great, our car broke down about 20 miles from home (the alternator completely packed up) and we had to be rescued by the AA. The breakdown guy was really lovely though and made sure we got back safely.

Well I suppose I’d better get this shopping out of the way, thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

#ThreeThingsThursday Announcement!

I’m delighted to announce that starting from next week Three Things Thursday will be hosted by There She Goes!

I first discovered Three Things Thursday when the lovely Emily at Nerd in the Brain became the new host of the Weekend Coffee Share (which you can read all about on her fantastic blog here) and I instantly loved the idea. It’s so nice to sit down once a week and remind myself that I have lots to be grateful for, even when I’m having a tough week.

I’ve found my positive outlook on things has improved so much since participating in Thee Things Thursday and I’m so glad that I joined in. I’m really looking forward to reading about all the things that make you happy and I hope that you will find participating just as enjoyable as I do!

So what is Three Things Thursday? Well put simply it’s a list of three things that have made you happy this week. Your three things can be big or small, anything that makes you laugh or brightens your day!

All you have to do is write a blog entry about the three (or more) things that have made you happy this week and share it via the Inlinkz button that will be at the bottom of each Three Things Thursday post. If you don’t feel like writing an entire post you can simply share some pictures on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with #ThreeThingsThursday. If you tag me @ThereSheGoesUK I’ll be sure to check them out and send them some love!

If you want to know more about Three Things Thursday, you can read all about it on the FAQ page. Can’t wait to see you all on Thursday!

#ThreeThingsThursday – What made me smile this week…

Welcome to this week’s Three Things Thursday post, hosted by Nerd in the Brain. Share your happy by posting three things (big or small) that have made you smile this week and join the fun!

Number One
3TT1.04.05.17
Sightseeing in London – My husband treated me to a day out in London the other day and we had a whirlwind tour of the capital which was SO much fun! We managed to see Cockfosters, Marble Arch, St Pancras, Paddington Bear, Platform 9¾, Sherlock Holmes Statue, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Green Park, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Baker Street, King’s Cross, Tower Hill, Paddington, Oxford Circus, Chinatown, Westminster, Garfunkel’s and The Betjeman Arms as well as the other two places on this list…

Number Two
#HarryPotter
House of MinaLima – Being a huge Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts fan and owning several MinaLima books, I’ve wanted to visit this wonderful place for ages. All four floors of the house are full of artwork and props from the films, which are absolutely stunning. Best of all you can take as many pictures as you like and it’s totally free!

Number Three
3TT3.04.05.17
Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb – I love Lush products and The Beatles, so when they released this bath bomb during the Lush Summit I was so excited to try one! Being an Oxford Street Exclusive I thought I’d have to miss out (the prices on eBay were ridiculous) but thanks to my surprise trip to London I was able to visit the world’s largest Lush store and pick a few up, along with a few other exclusives.

#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 30th April 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster and hosted by Emily at Nerd in the Brain.

If we were having coffee today you would be joining my husband and I London. We decided to take advantage of the fact we live relatively close to the capital and go sightseeing for the day.

How have you been this week? Did you take part in the A to Z Challenge this month? Today is the final day of the challenge and it’s been hectic at times but a lot of fun! In-between blogging and catching up with everyone’s entries, I have been working on my découpage (I’m just waiting for the Mod Podge I ordered to arrive), started a cross-stitch and baked some Shaun the Sheep cupcakes.

It’s been great chatting, but there are lots more places for us to see so I’d best get going! I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.
