The weather couldn’t have been more perfect as David and I headed to the Lake District in our 1972 MGB GT to take part in the Classic Drive and Ride in Day, held at the Lakeland Motor Museum.
We were joined by fellow classic car owners, who showed off their pride and joy across the car parks surrounding the museum. All participants received a voucher to enjoy a discount admission fee to look around the museum and the Campbell Bluebird Exhibition.
As well as plenty of motorcars to look around, the museum is also home to a varied selection of caravans, motorcycles, automobilia, bicycles, pedal cars and a tribute to the Isle of Man TT. There is also a large gift shop which offers a large range of gifts and memorabilia for all age ranges.
The adjacent Café Ambio serves a large range of locally sourced food, cakes, cheeses and meats which you can enjoy whilst sat by the River Leven watching the steam trains pass by.
If you’re planning a trip to the Lake District, make sure you include a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum whilst you’re there!
