#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 29th January 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster.

If we were having coffee today you would be joining my husband and I at Brooklands Museum to watch the VSCC Driving Tests. They have some lovely cakes in the Sunbeam Café so why not treat yourself?

My apologies for missing the coffee share last weekend, but it was the anniversary of my dad’s passing and I didn’t feel very much like socialising or writing for that matter. It’s been 16 years since we lost him, but the pain is just as strong as ever… I think it always will be.

We went to Hunstanton the other day, which was really quite sunny despite it being the middle of January. It was smaller than I expected and not like the seaside towns I’m used to but it is a lovely place. Listening to the sea helped me to feel a little more at peace… when I used to live at home the beach was only five minutes away, but where we live now it takes over an hour and a half to get to. I do miss it a lot, especially at this time of year.

So how have the past two weeks been for you? I’m really proud of all the hard work I’ve done on the GBHC so far… I’ve got a bit left to do in the lounge and then there’s just the bathroom and kitchen to deal with. I’m dreading the kitchen the most as I know it will take the longest with all of the cupboards and cookware we have, so I’ve been building up to it. It’s great having everything organised though, it makes daily tasks so much easier and we finally have space for some lovely new things.

Well I guess I should be getting back to the show! Thank you for joining for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a nice week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

Sorry to hear about your dad. They say time heals, but to me that’s an understatement. Years after my mother’s deaths I was still feeling much the way you were on the anniversary…. On to better things – Cake sounds delicious. What is the VSCC Driving Test? Hope your week ahead is a good one.

Thank you, I’m sorry for your loss. The Driving Tests are a series of complicated circuits that cars from the 1920’s and 30’s have to drive around in the fastest time possible!
