M is for Madonna

Artist: Madonna

Song: Material Girl

Album: The Immaculate Collection

Madonna has reinvented herself so many times over the years, and I have liked most of her styles and songs but I like 80s Madonna most of all. She’s released some fantastic songs but my favourite is ‘Material Girl’ because it’s so much fun to sing along to.

I also think she did a great job with ‘Evita’ and in my opinion it’s probably the best thing she’s done in her career so far, but then again I am a huge fan of musicals. I would love to see her in concert but unfortunately her tickets have always been way out of my price range… maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to win a ticket!

I think this is one of my all time favourite Madonna songs! I remember it as the song that let my mother explain to me who Marilyn Monroe was – which started a whole other obsession ๐Ÿ™‚

Natalie I am old enough that my music experience is stamped hard with the beginning of the MTV video phase, so only those Madonna songs and โ€‹ videos register on my radar.

She has some great stuff out there. Don’t you hate it that the ticket prices are so high? Plus the additional fees. It’s crazy sometimes. How much money do these artists need to make? That’s my rant.

I agree, especially when it starts creeping into the hundreds, plus you have to add on the cost of travel and in some cases accommodation… it becomes unaffordable to a lot of fans ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

My second favourite Madonna song after Like a Prayer. When that choir kicks in in Like a Prayer, the song just hits greatness.
