Alnwick Castle – My husband and I have just got back from a mini-break in Northumberland. We stayed in the town of Alnwick which is home to the castle that was used as Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films!

Number Two
3TT2.16.11.17
Fudge Hot Chocolate – I’ve been waiting all year for another fudge hot chocolate from Starbucks and it tastes just as good as I remember! I also love the design for the Christmas cups this year.

Number Three
3TT3.16.11.17
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – The title and release date for the next Fantastic Beasts film was revealed today. I can’t wait to see it and I love how the logo seems to incorporate elements of the Deathly Hallows!

Work In Progress Part 2: Dull to Shiny!
Peacock Fire Screen – When I was younger, mum had a beautiful fire screen which I’ve always admired. I really wanted the same one for my own house, but they were selling for crazy prices on eBay. The other day I found one for an amazing price! The only downside is that it needs a lot of work to restore it to it’s former glory, but the end result will be so worth it!

Number Two
3TT2.09.11.17
The Royal Pavilion, Brighton – My husband and I had a wonderful time in Brighton at the weekend. One of the highlights was visiting the Royal Pavilion, which as the most breathtaking Banqueting Room I have ever seen!

Number Three
3TT3.09.11.17
Cadbury’s Classic Collection – I finally got my hands on Cadbury’s retro box, which has been sold out every time I’ve gone to buy it until now! I love anything nostalgic and this brings back many fond Christmas memories from my childhood.

Reunited 💖
Reunited 💖 – It’s been several weeks since I’ve been to visit my family and it was so lovely to see them again. Bailey was especially happy to see me and didn’t leave my side for most of the weekend!

Number Two
3TT2.02.11.17
Doll House – I’ve wanted a doll house for years, so when I spotted this one at an antique shop at the weekend I couldn’t believe my luck! It will be a very long work in progress as it needs pretty much everything doing to it, but I can’t wait to get started!

Number Three
Making this year's Christmas cake with mum
Christmas Cake – My visit coincided with our family tradition of Christmas cake baking. I’m so happy that I was able to take part in again this year, cooking with mum just makes it all that more special.

@helenr_24's Beautiful wedding cake
Family Wedding – My husband and I attended a family wedding at the weekend. It was a beautiful day for a lovely couple and it was so nice to catch up with people we haven’t seen since our own wedding last year.

Number Two
3TT2.26.10.17
Angel of the North – I’ve always wanted to see this sculpture up close, but we’ve never had the time or it’s been too far to visit. The wedding we attended at the weekend was only a short drive away, so we finally got to see the angel properly. I knew it was going to be imposing, but I was blown away with just how large it is in reality!

Number Three
Really pleased with how well this #DoorKnocker turned out 🦅🚪#SprayPaint
Door Knocker – I’ve always wanted a unique door knocker that wasn’t incredibly pricey, so I couldn’t resist picking this one up for a few £ the other day. It was a rusted brown colour, which I spray painted gold and I’m really happy with how well it turned out. I can’t wait to hang it on our new door!

Buying a House – After months upon months of searching, my husband and I have finally found the house we have been looking for! We’re still in the very early stages of the buying process, but I could not be more thrilled… here’s hoping it all goes smoothly!

Number Two
3TT2.19.10.17
Beauty Box – As I have previously mentioned, my friend Michelle came up with the idea of surprise Beauty Boxes for her VIP group members. My latest box arrived on Saturday and was full of thoughtful, fabulous things that really made my day!

Number Three
3TT3.19.10.17
Lulu Guinness Vaseline – My Lip Therapy collection has grown to include these beautiful Lulu Guinness tins. I’ve been looking for them ever since they were announced and finally got hold of them this week!

#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 15th October 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I at our favourite Chinese restaurant, the Beijing Rendezvous for some All-You-Can-Eat lunch. I hope you’ve had a good week? I have missed our regular chats, it’s nice to be back!

I feel the happiest I’ve been in a long time, thanks to a wonderful day yesterday. I don’t want to jinx anything, but I will say that it looks like our long search for a house has finally come to an end!

Aside from viewing houses, I’m slowly starting to recover from my chest infection and I’m back at work, thank goodness! It’s surprising (but nice) how much I miss the place when I’m not there. It can be incredibly stressful at times, but the people I work with make it worthwhile.

Well I must get going, as we are about to head over to the cinema to see Blade Runner 2049… I hope it lives up to the hype! Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

Number Two
Loving @beaniescoffee new #PumpkinSpice 😍 ☕
Beanies Pumpkin Spice – I am loving the new Pumpkin Spice instant coffee from Beanies, it tastes lovely and it also saves me having to mess with syrups to get the flavour right!

Number Three

May Contain Squirrels – My job involves dealing with a LOT of parcels and I have seen some weird and wonderful things, but this one from Pip & Nut has made me laugh the most!

#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 8th October 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster.

It’s been such a long time since our last chat, over two months in fact, so we have a lot to catch up on! My apologies for being quiet for so long, but I’ve had a tough time dealing with illness, loss and a heavy workload. I just didn’t have the heart to write anything when I did get a spare moment, but I’m glad I pushed myself to continue Three Things Thursday as it kept me going.

I don’t want to dwell on things for long, so lets get to the important part… coffee! I’ve just had a new delivery of Beanies, so I have plenty of flavours for you to choose from including Pumpkin Spice. Now that you have a drink, pull up a chair and tell me everything that you have been up to since we last spoke!

As I said, I don’t want to focus on the negatives, but one thing I will mention is that unfortunately we weren’t able to keep Merlin. Bailey just wouldn’t take to him at all and became very depressed. It was upsetting for all of us, as he was such a lovely dog, but we had to do what was best for both of them. The good news is Merlin went back to his mum and is being well looked after and Bailey is back to his old self again.

Moving on to happier things, my husband and I have been busy covering Roverfest, Cumbria Classic and Motorsport Show, Ormskirk MotorFest, Pistons & Props and most recently the MX-5 Owners Club’s National Rally, as well as enjoying some lovely days out with friends and family. One restaurant in particular was really special, the Allotment in Birkdale. The food was wonderful (and included edible flowers) and there are so many little details in the décor, such as flower pot sinks, trowels for door handles and plants everywhere.

We went to our first Peterborough Beer Festival and I discovered some lovely wine (I’m not much of a beer drinker) and food. The highlight over these past weeks for me, has been my husband’s anniversary present. He bought us tickets for a ride on The Jacobite steam train, which Harry Potter fans will have seen crossing the iconic Glenfinnan viaduct in the films. It was a dream come true, made even more special by the fact we went exactly “Ninteen Years Later” to the day and I got to enjoy a chocolate frog, some Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans and a Butter-Bru hot chocolate during our journey!

One of my all-time favourite films is Kingsman: The Secret Service, so I’ve been excited about The Golden Circle ever since it was announced. We finally got to see it the other week and although I didn’t think it was as good as the first film (which to be fair, would be hard to beat anyway) it was still highly enjoyable and over-the-top as expected. I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it again!

Speaking of watching things again, we’ve been re-watching Life on Mars, which is one of our absolute favourite shows and despite knowing the ending it’s still a wonderfully gripping show. We’re re-watching Ashes to Ashes next week, which I’m really looking forward to.

Well I think that’s pretty much everything, thank you so much to everyone who has continued to visit this blog and those of you who participate in Three Things Thursday, I really appreciate it! Have a great week ahead and don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up (if anyone knows of a Linky List, please do let me know). Hopefully I shall see you again next week!

Dot-to-Dot
Star-to-Star – I’m not very well at the moment (fighting a chest infection) so this beautiful dot-to-dot book of constellations is keeping me entertained whilst I recover.

Number Three

Elton John – Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting – I saw Kingsman: The Golden Circle recently, and this song has been stuck in my head ever since. It’s great for motivation when you have a lot of work to get through!
