World Book Day 2015

Happy World Book Day everyone! I hope you all manage to find time to read your favourite book today… and if you have children, don’t forget about the £1 book token!

If you’ve never heard of World Book Day, it’s a worldwide
celebration of books and reading. The main initiative is to encourage all children to read and give them the opportunity to own a book.

There are always lots of activities to participate in, which you will find at your local library, bookshop and in schools… most of which involve dressing up as your favourite character, which is always great fun!

For lots more information and events, visit the World Book Day website.

Powis Castle Appeal

I’m a lifelong member of the National Trust and protecting historic places is incredibly important to me. The beautiful Powis Castle in particular will always be very special to me, as it’s where David and I got engaged.

Now that it’s in urgent need of repair I want to help in any way I can, such as sharing information about the cause and how you can donate.

The East Front of the castle steps and high terrace is crumbling away, due to damp spreading through the stonework. The Trust is currently £304,000 short of the estimated £500,000 cost to carry out the restoration.

For more information about the cause and how to donate, please visit the Powis Castle Appeal.
