#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 23rd April 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster and hosted by Emily at Nerd in the Brain.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I at the lovely Dalemain Mansion. We’re taking part in Drive it Day today and have met up with the other participants at the stately home which is famous for it’s marmalade. You really must try some before you leave, it’s delicious!

How has your week been? I have been working on a few craft projects, including some postage stamp découpage. I’m undecided as to which varnish to use however, do you have any suggestions? Something that brings out the vibrant colours of the stamps would be ideal.

The rest of my week has been spent writing as I was determined to have all my A to Z posts scheduled by the end of Friday. Now that I don’t have to worry about those (all that’s left is the reflection post) I can concentrate on visiting everyone’s blogs and commenting. I have to admit I’ve found it much harder to keep track of who I’ve visited this year without the Linky List.

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you enjoyed your marmalade! I hope you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my family for Easter lunch. There’s plenty of chocolate to go around so feel free to take some. With mum’s moving date creeping ever closer, we’re down to the basics here so the crockery is becoming scarce… grab a cup whilst you can!

How have you been this week? I had a lovely day with my sister yesterday, one of my favourite shops; Vintage Home, has moved to a bigger site and had an open day with free drinks, nibbles and workshop demonstrations. Crafty Badger Ceramics who have also moved to the same site let us have a go at making our own clay ornaments which will be glazed and ready to collect in a week or so… I can’t wait to see the end result!

We also watched Moana the other night and really enjoyed it, especially Tamatoa the crab. We’ve been singing ‘Shiny‘ ever since… it really gets stuck in your head! I loved the references to the Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Frozen (plus the rest) throughout the film. Have you watched a good film recently? Which releases are you looking forward to?

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me in Starbucks at the NEC. My husband and I are in Birmingham for the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show. I’m very much looking forward to a Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino, what will you be having?

So how has your week been? I’ve been busy re-organising most of our shelves in the house as the lovely new furniture we acquired at the weekend has given us loads more storage space. We can finally display things that have been hidden away in boxes for the past two years, including the rest of my beautiful books and most of my Harry Potter collection:

Yesterday I visited The Pen Museum and it was actually really interesting! I miss writing with ink (even though being left-handed meant I was forever smudging my school work and coming home with a blue hand) so it was fun to write with a fountain pen again. I was also able to make my own nibs using the traditional 19th Century machines and I’m really pleased with how they turned out:

The A to Z challenge started yesterday (my choice for the letter A was a-ha) so the rest of my spare time has been spent writing entries whenever I get a chance. April is going to be a tough month to keep on top of things as I don’t want to miss any Three Things or Coffee Share entries either… hopefully I’ll be able to stay on track! Don’t forget to drop me a comment if you’re also taking part in the A to Z challenge, I’d love to read your posts!

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today you would be joining me for tea and cake with my mum as we’re celebrating Mother’s Day in the UK today. She’s the kindest, wittiest, smartest, most generous mum and friend a daughter could wish for!

How are you this week? I did some freelance work earlier in the week and caught up with everything after our trip away last weekend. I have also been moving the majority of our furniture. As mum is moving to a smaller place, she’s offered us several pieces of furniture which are a huge help as we need more storage… I just have to make them fit! We hired a van on Friday to collect everything and I wanted everything back home ready so that we could unload the items without worrying about where they would go.

I have started taking part in Three Things Thursday, which is hosted by Nerd in the Brain. All you have to do is post about three things (big or small) that have made you smile this week, they don’t have to be long entries, even a simple picture will do. I think it will be a great help with keeping positive throughout the week… are you going to join in?

You may have noticed a few changes in my sidebar, as I’m getting ready for the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. My theme this year is Music: Favourite Artists which I hope you will enjoy. As there is no Linky List this year please let me know you’re taking part and I’ll make sure I’m following you!

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a brilliant week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today you would be joining my husband, our friend James and I in beautiful Bruges. We went to the British Cars & Lifestyle show in Holland yesterday and have stopped in for lunch on our way to France. We’re doing a LOT of travelling today!

How has this week been for you? I’ve been catching up with various bits of admin, getting my scrapbooks up-to-date and I have started on the time consuming task of sorting through my dad’s stamp collection. As a stamp collector myself,  I was thrilled to find my dad’s collection whilst I was clearing out my mum’s garage. Unfortunately he wasn’t well enough to ever sort them into an album or file them properly, so up until now they have all been thrown into envelopes.

There are literally hundreds of stamps from all over the world for me to go through, but I have managed to remove all the duplicates so far. My ultimate goal is to put them all into a proper stamp album and use the ones left over for some découpage projects. I think after all these years of being hidden away it will be lovely to display them as a piece of art. Are you working on anything at the moment?

Well I’d best be getting back to the car, we’ve still got a long way to go! Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today you would be joining me and my friends and family back home. It was my birthday on Friday and I wanted to celebrate by coming back to see everyone. Help yourself to a slice of my adorable owl birthday cake whilst you’re here!

So how has your week been? Mine has been busy figuring out room layouts and moving things around the house, ready for some new furniture that we’ll be acquiring in a few weeks time, as well as working on some craft projects and trying out some simple Pinterest recipes (more on those later in the week).

I’ve been spoilt with truly beautiful and thoughtful cards and gifts this week from my wonderful husband, family and friends and I’m so grateful to have such lovely people in my life. One of my presents was a trip to the theatre to see Funny Girl last night which was fabulous! I’m delighted that I was able to see Sheridan Smith perform as I think she’s a wonderful singer.

How do you like to celebrate your birthday? Do you like a big party or a small gathering… or something different entirely? What’s the best birthday you’ve ever had?

Thank you for joining for this Coffee Share. I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today you would be joining me and my husband at the impressive Fountains Abbey. It was his birthday on Wednesday so we’re celebrating by spending the weekend in Yorkshire. We’ve had a lovely weekend so far, enjoying good food and taking in the beautiful scenery.

How is everything with you? I’ve been busy catching up with things at home after my week away. I also finally got around to watching The Jungle Book which I enjoyed, but I still prefer the 1967 animated version and Bridget Jones’s Baby, which I loved! Have you seen any good films recently?

We’re going to explore the water garden now, thank you for joining for this Coffee Share. I hope you have a great week! Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today you would be joining me at my mum’s house, I’ve been here for the week helping to pack everything for her house move in a few weeks time. It’s exhausting work so I could do with a coffee break! I’ve finally figured out how to use her fancy coffee machine so what would you like?

How has your week been? I’ve been having some major trips down memory lane whilst sorting out mum’s garage due to finding 40+ years of things my dad had stored away. It was upsetting at first to read through his cards and letters, but at the same time it was wonderful to find we still owned them and could relive those memories that had faded over time.

Yesterday I visited mum’s new house for the first time and I absolutely love it! It’s a really cosy and beautifully decorated home. I just know it will look fabulous at Christmas as they have a real log burning stove, which I adore. I also met the couple who are buying mum’s house who were really lovely, so hopefully everything will go smoothly over the next month or so!

Well I suppose I better get back to packing, we’re tackling the kitchen today so I’d best get started. Thank you for joining for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today you would  be joining my husband and I at Stoneleigh Park for the International MG and Triumph Spares Day. It’s very busy here so I’m afraid we’ll have to queue for a while!

How has this week been for you? Did you have a nice Valentine’s Day? My husband and I went out for a gorgeous meal at one of my favourite pubs which made for a lovely evening.

It’s been a rather quiet week for me, unfortunately the weather still isn’t good enough to get started on the garden so I have been working on a few little craft projects instead.

I’ve got an incredibly busy week ahead of me (my mum is moving house and I’m going back home to help with the packing) and a long train journey tomorrow morning, so it will be an early night for me I think! What are your plans for this upcoming week?

Thank you for joining for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 12th February 2017

If we were having coffee today you would be joining my husband and I in Shepton Mallet. We had a lovely day yesterday seeing the sights in Bristol (such as the The Clifton Suspension Bridge and the SS Great Britain) and today we’re at the Great Western Classic Car Show, which is a new event for us.

So how has life treated you since we last spoke? I’ve been adding the final touches to the house now that everything is sorted. I’m looking forward to the weather getting warmer and drier so  I can get started on the garden… I’m a total novice when it comes to gardening but I’ll give it my best shot! The first thing I need to do is reclaim the flowerbeds.

With all the cleaning that’s been going on I just haven’t had the energy to sit down and write properly for a while. I feel bad for neglecting my blog and I really want to get back into a proper posting routine, especially before the A-Z Challenge comes back around! There are one or two trips I would’ve liked to add to the ‘Places I’ve Been‘, but I feel it’s been left a little too long for me to write about them now.

Also with ‘Torque Shows‘ I’ve decided to only write about new car shows I’ve been to (unless they have changed significantly since the last time I went) as they are pretty much the same each year… that doesn’t make them bad events but there’s only so much you can write about if nothing ever changes! Are there changes you’d like to make with your blog? Do you find it hard to stick to a posting schedule?

I saw T2 Trainspotting on Thursday which was brilliant, it’s been ages since I saw a film in the cinema which was decent so that, combined with the luxurious new seats (leather with electric foot and back rests) almost made up for the ticket price! I know I’ve said it before, but ticket prices are SO expensive these days! It really puts me off going to the cinema which is a shame as I used to go several times a month. Do you go to watch films regularly or do you wait until they’re on DVD/Netflix? Is there a franchise that you will always pay to see no matter what?

If we were having coffee today I would ask if you have any plans for Valentine’s Day? We’re going out for a meal which I’m really looking forward to. I’ve only celebrated it for the past three years, so it’s still rather novel to me but I know some people hate it.

Well I guess I’ve rambled enough! Thank you for joining for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead whatever your plans are. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!
