#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 6th August 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created and hosted by Diana at Part Time Monster.

If we were having coffee today, I would first like to apologise for missing our chats recently! I’ve been so busy helping mum with her new house and then I was on holiday in Italy. Anyway, what would you like to drink?

Has July treated you well? I can’t believe we’re in August already, this year is flying by! Yesterday my husband and I were at the Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza in Cirencester. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side with heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout most of the day, but we did manage to see quite a bit of the show in the hour of sunshine we were afforded!

As you may have seen on my Three Things Thursday post, we celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary last weekend. We had a wonderful time in Italy, we stayed in Sorrento and whilst we were there we visited Herculaneum, Pompeii and Capri. We had beautiful weather the entire time, the food was amazing and the views were stunning!

I’m pleased to say that my mum’s house is now complete, everything has been unpacked, all the workmen have finished and she finally has a phone line and internet connection. I’m really looking forward to our next visit, as we will be able to go out to places and just enjoy the new house without stressing over what still needs to be done.

The exciting news for us this week is the soon-to-be-addition to our family, a gorgeous 8 week old Cockapoo. Mum’s still undecided on his name as of yet, but they introduced him to Bailey yesterday and are hoping to bring him home on Wednesday. I cannot wait to meet him!

Well I think that’s everything for now! Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead! Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me at the stunning Newby Hall. My husband and I are here primarily for the Historical Vehicle Rally, but I also took the time to go on a guided tour of the house which was fantastic. I’ve visited many beautiful stately homes over the years but Newby is particularly exceptional.

My apologies for missing our coffee share last week, but I was helping mum with the last part of her house move and she doesn’t have a phone line set up at the new place yet. I’ve also been having a nightmare with our internet connection at home, it’s currently taking at least quarter of an hour to load a page which isn’t exactly ideal!

So how have things been for you these past two weeks? My big news that you might have seen from my Three Things Thursday post is that my husband and I are finally in a position to buy our own home! We’ve already started looking around a few houses and I can’t wait until we have a place to call our own.

Apart from house hunting, most of the days have been taken up with the usual house and office work… yesterday was absolutely lovely though. We went to Nunnington Hall in Yorkshire and after looking around the house we strolled around the beautiful gardens, played Pooh sticks, croquet and giant jenga. Later on we had a fabulous evening meal at The Nags Head and had a late night walk around the quiet little village of Pickhill.

All in all it’s been the perfect weekend, and exactly what I needed after several weeks of stress and tears. Here’s hoping next week will be even better, I hope your week will also be lovely! Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me for a relaxing drink at home. Would you care for a cup of cherry chocolate coffee? My friend sent me a jar last week and I’ve been looking forward to trying it out.

How have you been this week? Mine started off very stressful and upsetting, but thankfully things have improved somewhat. I’m not going to keep focusing on the negative, so instead I will talk about all the nice things that have happened…

Mum finally moved into her new house and is settling in. I’ve only seen one or two photos so far, but it looks great already. I can’t wait to visit and see it all… it’s going to look especially wonderful at Christmas with the log fire.

Friday marked 14 years since I randomly decided to have lunch at Pizza Hut, and just so happened to meet the man I was going to marry. Obviously there was only one place for us to go to mark this momentous occasion, so we had a lovely evening meal.

Yesterday my husband’s parents came to visit us for the first time, so we took them to the Nene Valley Railway, lunch at the Tobie Norris in Stamford and drinks at Charters Bar in Peterborough. The highlight for me was eating pancakes for breakfast whilst watching the steam trains go by in the glorious sunshine.

This morning I was rearranging my books and as I moved them, a gift card fell out that’s been missing ever since my birthday! I must have put it inside the book “for safe keeping” as I was travelling home that day. I’ve just checked and it’s still valid, so I’m looking forward to a mini-spending spree later!

My husband has just made the excellent suggestion that we go out for lunch, so I best be getting ready. Hopefully next week will bring more happiness and less stress! Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining us in the middle of a major packing operation. Everything has been sorted with my mum’s house sale and the contracts have finally been exchanged after 5 incredibly stressful months. Moving day is next week so we’ve not got much time to get the last of the house in boxes!

Have you had a nice week? I had two surprises on Thursday, my friend sent me a parcel filled with lovely things to congratulate me on my job, and our wedding photographer sent us some classic car books just because he thought we would like them. I love getting happy mail! Have you had something good turn up in the post recently?

Sorry this chat has to be so short this week, but we only have a few hours left to finish the house so I best get on. Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today, we would be having some ice cold drinks instead. It’s absolutely scorching here today so we’re having refreshing fruit juice and plenty of it! What’s your favourite way to cool down?

How are you today? It’s been a relatively quiet week for me, with being in the office and getting the housework done. Friday was good fun though, the company my husband and I work for held a big awards ceremony in London. Pixie Lott, 5 After Midnight, Calum Scott and Ella Eyre all performed at the after show party. It was lovely being able to get to know my colleagues more and to see my friends be nominated for (and win!) some very special awards.

It’s Father’s Day today and unfortunately I now live too far away to be able to visit my dad’s grave. Instead I have bought a lovely memorial candle/photo frame for home, which I have lit. For those of you who are celebrating today, I hope you’re having a lovely day with your dads and cherishing your time together… for those who aren’t for whatever reason, I’m sending you lots of love and strength for today and every day.

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I at Beijing Rendezvous for some All-You-Can-Eat Chinese… feel free to help yourself to as much as you like. It’s my first visit here and I love it, the food is delicious and I very much approve of the 80s-tastic soundtrack!

If you’re not a fan of Chinese, you can come back to ours for a drink. Rather than coffee, can I offer you a cup of tea? I won a beautiful Emma Bridgewater teapot the other day, so I have been treating myself to some lovely cups of tea this week.

How has your week been? I had my first full week in the office so I have been really busy learning how everything works and where everything is. There’s not been much time to do anything else other than catch up with housework, but I did have a lovely evening last night. My husband and I had a great time with our friends at the Icons of the 80’s concert, which was held at Burghley House.

Well I suppose I should start getting my things ready for work tomorrow. Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee this evening, you would be joining me in the middle of a mini Doctor Who marathon. I’ve missed the past three episodes due to being away, so I’m catching up with them all now. How have you been this week?

I started my new job on Thursday, so the days leading up to it were spent getting the house in order and sorting out a new housework schedule so I can keep on top of everything. Do you have any recommendation for a chore timetable that works for you?

Yesterday my husband and I went to the Tatton Park Classic Car Spectacular with our friends and today we spent as much time as possible with family… something that is more important than ever these days.

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me at my mum’s house. I was supposed to go home on Tuesday, but my plans were changed after the awful events in Manchester. This week has been an emotional roller-coaster to say the least…

The terror attack has been absolutely heartbreaking for me, Manchester and the arena have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have spent countless evenings there with my friends and family, watching my favourite artists perform. I still can’t put into words how shocked and saddened I am.

Then there was the news that Sir Roger Moore had passed away. I loved Roger in The Persuaders and his role in Spice World was legendary, but his version of James Bond is what I adored the most. For Your Eyes Only will always be incredibly special to my husband and I… we’re both huge Bond fans and his films have always been part of our relationship in one way or another.

On to the more positive things… my change in plans meant that I could spend more time with my family and we’ve had some lovely meals together. Mum and I went to see Take That on Monday and again (along with my sister) on Friday. It was a very emotional show as the band are from Manchester and were supposed to be playing at the Manchester Arena, but they rescheduled and performed in Liverpool instead. It was wonderful to see so much love and support at the show, the Echo Arena replaced their posters with “I ❤️ MCR” ones and Take That donated all of the proceeds from the show.

As I mentioned in my Three Things Thursday post this week, I can finally share my exciting news! I didn’t want to jinx it, but I had several job interviews this month and I’ve been offered a permanent position which I have accepted. It’s going to make such a huge difference and I’m very excited (and nervous) to start my new job in June.

I’m going to enjoy what’s left of the bank holiday as much as I can, I hope you can too… Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I in Llandudno. We’re here for the Porsches on the Prom event, which is a new one for us.

Have you had a good week? I’ve been busy freelancing again and it finally stopped raining long enough for me to cut the grass… there’s still lots of work to be done in the garden, but it’s been raining heavily every day which is very frustrating, especially as I want to get it sorted out properly.

On Friday I had my first ever Drive-in Cinema experience, which I really enjoyed despite the occasional radio interference. We went to see Grease which is one of my all time favourite films and the perfect choice for a Drive-in. We arrived just as the car park was opening so we managed to get on the front row. My husband was rather surprised and amused by the fact I knew every single word (and I don’t just mean the songs) but like I said, it IS one of my favourites!

Yesterday we went to Colwyn Bay which was hosting a 1940s Festival and later on we had a wonderful evening at Romeo… the food was just perfect! Afterwards we wandered along the promenade, listened to the sea and watched the stars. I absolutely love walking of a night, everything is just so tranquil.

Right, we’d best get back to work… Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week! Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be arriving whilst I’m unpacking… I’ve spent several hours in a baking hot car so I’m going to pour myself an ice cold drink instead! We’ve just got back from visiting our family this weekend and have had a lovely time with our parents, as well as time with our niece and nephew.

So how have you been? I’ve mostly been busy doing freelance work this week. My husband and I and had a lovely evening with friends (and their three gorgeous English Setters) on Wednesday and yesterday I had a mini shopping spree with my sister. I also received some potentially exciting news earlier this week, which I will share at a later date if it all goes well… I don’t want to jinx it!

I’ve had a really long day and I’m feeling rather drained so I’m going to head off to bed soon. Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!
