#WeekendCoffeeShare: If We Were Having Coffee on 18th June 2017

Thanks for joining me for this Weekend Coffee Share, created by Diana at Part Time Monster and hosted by Emily at Nerd in the Brain.

If we were having coffee today, we would be having some ice cold drinks instead. It’s absolutely scorching here today so we’re having refreshing fruit juice and plenty of it! What’s your favourite way to cool down?

How are you today? It’s been a relatively quiet week for me, with being in the office and getting the housework done. Friday was good fun though, the company my husband and I work for held a big awards ceremony in London. Pixie Lott, 5 After Midnight, Calum Scott and Ella Eyre all performed at the after show party. It was lovely being able to get to know my colleagues more and to see my friends be nominated for (and win!) some very special awards.

It’s Father’s Day today and unfortunately I now live too far away to be able to visit my dad’s grave. Instead I have bought a lovely memorial candle/photo frame for home, which I have lit. For those of you who are celebrating today, I hope you’re having a lovely day with your dads and cherishing your time together… for those who aren’t for whatever reason, I’m sending you lots of love and strength for today and every day.

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I at Beijing Rendezvous for some All-You-Can-Eat Chinese… feel free to help yourself to as much as you like. It’s my first visit here and I love it, the food is delicious and I very much approve of the 80s-tastic soundtrack!

If you’re not a fan of Chinese, you can come back to ours for a drink. Rather than coffee, can I offer you a cup of tea? I won a beautiful Emma Bridgewater teapot the other day, so I have been treating myself to some lovely cups of tea this week.

How has your week been? I had my first full week in the office so I have been really busy learning how everything works and where everything is. There’s not been much time to do anything else other than catch up with housework, but I did have a lovely evening last night. My husband and I had a great time with our friends at the Icons of the 80’s concert, which was held at Burghley House.

Well I suppose I should start getting my things ready for work tomorrow. Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee this evening, you would be joining me in the middle of a mini Doctor Who marathon. I’ve missed the past three episodes due to being away, so I’m catching up with them all now. How have you been this week?

I started my new job on Thursday, so the days leading up to it were spent getting the house in order and sorting out a new housework schedule so I can keep on top of everything. Do you have any recommendation for a chore timetable that works for you?

Yesterday my husband and I went to the Tatton Park Classic Car Spectacular with our friends and today we spent as much time as possible with family… something that is more important than ever these days.

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me at my mum’s house. I was supposed to go home on Tuesday, but my plans were changed after the awful events in Manchester. This week has been an emotional roller-coaster to say the least…

The terror attack has been absolutely heartbreaking for me, Manchester and the arena have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have spent countless evenings there with my friends and family, watching my favourite artists perform. I still can’t put into words how shocked and saddened I am.

Then there was the news that Sir Roger Moore had passed away. I loved Roger in The Persuaders and his role in Spice World was legendary, but his version of James Bond is what I adored the most. For Your Eyes Only will always be incredibly special to my husband and I… we’re both huge Bond fans and his films have always been part of our relationship in one way or another.

On to the more positive things… my change in plans meant that I could spend more time with my family and we’ve had some lovely meals together. Mum and I went to see Take That on Monday and again (along with my sister) on Friday. It was a very emotional show as the band are from Manchester and were supposed to be playing at the Manchester Arena, but they rescheduled and performed in Liverpool instead. It was wonderful to see so much love and support at the show, the Echo Arena replaced their posters with “I ❤️ MCR” ones and Take That donated all of the proceeds from the show.

As I mentioned in my Three Things Thursday post this week, I can finally share my exciting news! I didn’t want to jinx it, but I had several job interviews this month and I’ve been offered a permanent position which I have accepted. It’s going to make such a huge difference and I’m very excited (and nervous) to start my new job in June.

I’m going to enjoy what’s left of the bank holiday as much as I can, I hope you can too… Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I in Llandudno. We’re here for the Porsches on the Prom event, which is a new one for us.

Have you had a good week? I’ve been busy freelancing again and it finally stopped raining long enough for me to cut the grass… there’s still lots of work to be done in the garden, but it’s been raining heavily every day which is very frustrating, especially as I want to get it sorted out properly.

On Friday I had my first ever Drive-in Cinema experience, which I really enjoyed despite the occasional radio interference. We went to see Grease which is one of my all time favourite films and the perfect choice for a Drive-in. We arrived just as the car park was opening so we managed to get on the front row. My husband was rather surprised and amused by the fact I knew every single word (and I don’t just mean the songs) but like I said, it IS one of my favourites!

Yesterday we went to Colwyn Bay which was hosting a 1940s Festival and later on we had a wonderful evening at Romeo… the food was just perfect! Afterwards we wandered along the promenade, listened to the sea and watched the stars. I absolutely love walking of a night, everything is just so tranquil.

Right, we’d best get back to work… Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week! Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be arriving whilst I’m unpacking… I’ve spent several hours in a baking hot car so I’m going to pour myself an ice cold drink instead! We’ve just got back from visiting our family this weekend and have had a lovely time with our parents, as well as time with our niece and nephew.

So how have you been? I’ve mostly been busy doing freelance work this week. My husband and I and had a lovely evening with friends (and their three gorgeous English Setters) on Wednesday and yesterday I had a mini shopping spree with my sister. I also received some potentially exciting news earlier this week, which I will share at a later date if it all goes well… I don’t want to jinx it!

I’ve had a really long day and I’m feeling rather drained so I’m going to head off to bed soon. Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining me at home for a change. I’m going out to the shops in a bit, but I rather fancy a hot chocolate to warm me up before I go out. The weather was lovely during the start of the week but it’s turned much colder now, it feels more like autumn at the moment… you wouldn’t think we were heading into summer!

So how have you been? I hope you’ve had a lovely week since our last catch up. My big news of the week is that starting from Thursday, There She Goes will be the new host of Three Things Thursday! I’m really looking forward to it and reading about all the things that make people happy. If you want to know more about Three Things Thursday and how to participate you can you can read all about it on the FAQ page. There She Goes was also chosen for the Mystery Blogger Award the other day, which was a lovely surprise.

Last Sunday my husband treated me to a day out in London and we managed to cram in as many tourist spots as possible, it was exhausting but SO much fun! The highlight for me had to be the wonderful House of MinaLima which has four floors crammed with props from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. I highly recommend it if you’re a fan. Best of all it’s totally free and you can take as many pictures as you like!

Yesterday we went to Nottingham, which is where my dad’s side of the family is from. My husband had never been before, so I took him to one of my favourite pubs – Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem. It’s the oldest one in England and carved into the surrounding caves, it’s such a fascinating place! Unfortunately the journey home wasn’t so great, our car broke down about 20 miles from home (the alternator completely packed up) and we had to be rescued by the AA. The breakdown guy was really lovely though and made sure we got back safely.

Well I suppose I’d better get this shopping out of the way, thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up!

If we were having coffee today you would be joining my husband and I London. We decided to take advantage of the fact we live relatively close to the capital and go sightseeing for the day.

How have you been this week? Did you take part in the A to Z Challenge this month? Today is the final day of the challenge and it’s been hectic at times but a lot of fun! In-between blogging and catching up with everyone’s entries, I have been working on my découpage (I’m just waiting for the Mod Podge I ordered to arrive), started a cross-stitch and baked some Shaun the Sheep cupcakes.

It’s been great chatting, but there are lots more places for us to see so I’d best get going! I hope you have a lovely week. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my husband and I at the lovely Dalemain Mansion. We’re taking part in Drive it Day today and have met up with the other participants at the stately home which is famous for it’s marmalade. You really must try some before you leave, it’s delicious!

How has your week been? I have been working on a few craft projects, including some postage stamp découpage. I’m undecided as to which varnish to use however, do you have any suggestions? Something that brings out the vibrant colours of the stamps would be ideal.

The rest of my week has been spent writing as I was determined to have all my A to Z posts scheduled by the end of Friday. Now that I don’t have to worry about those (all that’s left is the reflection post) I can concentrate on visiting everyone’s blogs and commenting. I have to admit I’ve found it much harder to keep track of who I’ve visited this year without the Linky List.

Thank you for joining me for this Coffee Share, I hope you enjoyed your marmalade! I hope you have a great week ahead. Don’t forget to visit my fellow bloggers for a cuppa and a catch up.

If we were having coffee today, you would be joining my family for Easter lunch. There’s plenty of chocolate to go around so feel free to take some. With mum’s moving date creeping ever closer, we’re down to the basics here so the crockery is becoming scarce… grab a cup whilst you can!

How have you been this week? I had a lovely day with my sister yesterday, one of my favourite shops; Vintage Home, has moved to a bigger site and had an open day with free drinks, nibbles and workshop demonstrations. Crafty Badger Ceramics who have also moved to the same site let us have a go at making our own clay ornaments which will be glazed and ready to collect in a week or so… I can’t wait to see the end result!

We also watched Moana the other night and really enjoyed it, especially Tamatoa the crab. We’ve been singing ‘Shiny‘ ever since… it really gets stuck in your head! I loved the references to the Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Frozen (plus the rest) throughout the film. Have you watched a good film recently? Which releases are you looking forward to?
